Welcome to Babette             

It is with deep regret and sadness that we must announce the closure of Babette. Our last day of business will be October 31st. Like so many of our friends and fellow small business owners, we just could not make the numbers work.

Between three different locations, Babette has served Berkeley for 14 years.  We will host our 22nd and final wedding at the end of the month. It has been a great honor to serve you all, meet your children and grandparents, be a part of your most important celebrations.

We will miss cooking for you all and more than anything, we will miss the beautiful community that has gathered around the Redwood Tree, supported the incredible musicians who we have had the great pleasure to spotlight and our regulars who came for the food, the love and a little bit of grace in these tumultuous times.

“Ben Goldberg” has been at it for a long time. His mother Judy played the clarinet and when Ben was little he was drawn to the smell of cork grease and old wood inside the case. In fourth grade Willie Hill taught him the proper embouchure and why you have to sit up straight and know the name of the note, not just the fingering. Clarinet, like many instruments, is not easy. Music gets complicated but you can always sit up straight and keep playing your song.

Reservations highly recommended.
Concert seating is outdoors.
$15 cover charge

We accept reservations for all size parties through Open Table.
A credit card # is required for parties of 8 or more, and a $10 fee per guest will be charged if your party cancels with less than 24 hours notice.

Buyouts are available for a garden wedding, graduation celebration, business luncheon or any special occasion. Pricing varies based on demand.
